Project Concept

The Dance
of Life

Where Kizomba meets purpose. Where the dance floor becomes a classroom for the soul. An Afrocentric journey through movement, business, and being human.

The frame taught me to walk straight. The lead taught me to listen without words. The dance taught me that you cannot move alone.

Tawanda Joseph, Ottomate Founder

The Big Idea

One man. One dance class. One business. A single voice across every channel — the Ottomate founder learning Kizomba in Harare, weaving every lesson into something deeper.

🎯

The Purpose

To inspire people to dance. To show that movement is medicine, community is wealth, and the dance floor is where the soul learns what the mind couldn't grasp. To promote Rico's classes, build toward The Zim Experience festival, and demonstrate Ottomate's philosophy through lived experience.

🎬

Creative Direction

Creative Director: Julia Sarantes Andersson — Founder of The Global Entity, festival community builder, and producer of this entire project. Julia oversees creative direction, treatment, and production to ensure a cohesive, premium, emotionally resonant body of work.

🎵

The Sound & Style

Afrocentric. Warm. Organic. Real. No staging — just the good, the awkward, the breakthrough moments. Humour meets depth. Kizomba's heartbeat underpins everything. Visually: warm golds, deep earth tones, sweat-glossed skin, street-lit Harare nights, the intimacy of a restaurant-turned-dance-floor.

🎪

The Destination

The Zim Experience — an annual SBK festival in Harare: 3 days of dance workshops, evening parties, teachers from across Africa. Two events already held. This content series builds toward the next edition (TBD). Every reel, episode, and post is a breadcrumb leading to the dance floor.

Content Dimensions

Every piece of content lives at the intersection of these three forces

01

🧘 The Soul Layer

Kizomba as allegory. Frame = self-respect. Lead/follow = trust. The embrace = vulnerability. Stepping wrong = permission to be human. These are the deeper essays, voiceovers, and contemplative moments that make you stop scrolling.

02

🛠️ The Builder Layer

Ottomate tutorials disguised as storytelling. "I built the landing page for Rico's class in 20 minutes." "This is how I repurpose a 3-minute reel into 15 posts." The business philosophy that funds the art. Tech serve artistry.

03

🔥 The Movement Layer

Raw dance content. The sweat. The laughter. The breakthrough when a move finally clicks. Rico's teaching, the restaurant floor, the street outside. This is the magnet — beautiful, energetic, pure SBK that makes you want to find a class in your city.

One Voice. Everywhere.

No sub-brands. No split identities. Ottomate founder, doing dance = brand content. The same voice across every channel — warm, wise, self-deprecating, Afrocentric, entrepreneurial, human.
